COURSE INTRODUCTION

This program offers skill-based training in both theory and practice, covering the maintenance and repair of marine machinery engines. The training scope includes overhauling petrol and diesel engines, repairing transmission systems, electrical & electronics, and refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It also covers workshop tasks such as filing, grinding, cutting, brazing, threading, and welding. Students will be exposed to elements of entrepreneurship and are encouraged to become technical entrepreneurs upon graduation.

SPM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• PASS SPM with two (2) Credits in the following subjects:

  1. One (1) Credit in either Mathematics / Science Group / Vocational & Technology Group / Vocational Subjects Group (MPV) / Vocational Stream Subjects Group (MPAV)
  2. One (1) Credit in any other subject
  3. PASS English
  4. PASS Mathematics
  5. Not Color Blind

OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• GRADUATES OF MARA SKILLS INSTITUTES (IKM) / PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTES (ILKA/ILKS)

  1. PASS Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Profession / Technology in a related field with a CGPA ≥ 2.00

• MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE (SKM) GRADUATES

  1. PASS Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in a recognized related field or equivalent

• MALAYSIAN VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE (SVM) GRADUATES

  1. Academic Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 or higher
  2. Credit in Bahasa Melayu (SVM Code 1104)
  3. Vocational CGPA of 2.67 or higher
  4. Competent in all vocational modules
  5. Not Color Blind
