Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed elevating the MARA-Japan Industrial Institute (MJII) to serve as a strategic talent pipeline and strengthen ties between Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Japanese industries. Speaking at the 7th MARA-OISCA International Business Forum 2026 in Langkawi, Zahid highlighted Japan as a natural partner for advancing Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sectors, particularly in areas like smart manufacturing, AI, robotics, and green technologies. He emphasized that structured participation from Japanese companies will help transform students into skilled workers and technopreneurs who are ready to meet the demands of a high-tech future.
