COURSE INTRODUCTION

The program emphasizes the commercial importance and rapid development of embedded digital systems for communication and control. It offers a wide range of options that are relevant to industry, and is the best preparation for those who want to engage in research. This synthetic-based program is designed for assistant engineers in the electronics industry, especially in sectors such as consumer electronics, communications, automotive, industrial automation and avionics. Students will have access to a full set of high-performance development tools, platforms and equipment throughout the practical sessions and project development phases to hone their expertise.

SPM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Pass SPM or equivalent with at least three (3) Credits in the following subjects:

  1. Mathematics
  2. One (1) subject from the Science / Vocational & Technology / Vocational Subjects (MPV) / Vocational Stream Subjects (MPAV) groups
  3. One (1) other subject
  4. Pass in English
  5. Must not be color blind

STPM GRADUATES

• Pass with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any one (1) subject
• Must not be color blind

STAM GRADUATES

• Pass with a minimum rank of Maqbul
• Must not be color blind

OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• GRADUATES OF MARA SKILLS INSTITUTES (IKM) / PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTES (ILKA/ILKS)

  1. Pass Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Profession / Technology in a related field with CGPA ≥ 2.50
  2. OR Pass with 2.0 ≤ CGPA < 2.50 and at least 6 months of work experience in a related field
  3. Must not be color blind

• MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE (SKM) GRADUATES

  1. Pass SKM Level 3 in a recognized related field or equivalent
  2. Must not be color blind

• MALAYSIAN VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE (SVM) GRADUATES

  1. Academic Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) ≥ 3.33
  2. Credit in Bahasa Melayu (SVM Code 1104)
  3. Vocational CGPA ≥ 3.67
  4. Competent in all vocational modules
  5. Must not be color blind
