COURSE INTRODUCTION

Students will be exposed to the latest technology, materials and studio design practices used in furniture production using Computer-aided design and modelling (CAD-CAM). Coursework also emphasizes creative, innovative elements, workshop methods as well as marketing and business studies. Throughout the program, students are also encouraged to develop their skills through awareness of various technical and creative aspects. The learning process also includes understanding and emphasis on the elements of design, function, manufacturing and project presentation for domestic, commercial, corporate and specialized furniture products.

SPM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Pass SPM or equivalent with at least three (3) Credits in the following subjects:
  
  1. PASS English and Mathematics

STPM GRADUATES

• PASS STPM with at least Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in any one (1) subject
• PASS Interview / Portfolio Review conducted by MARA

STAM GRADUATES

• PASSED STAM with the rank of maqbul
• PASS Interview / Portfolio Review conducted by MARA

OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• GRADUATES OF MARA SKILLS INSTITUTES (IKM) / PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTES (ILKA/ILKS)
  
  1. PASS Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Profession / Technology, in a related field, with CGPA ≥ 2.50
  2. OR PASSED Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Profession / Technology, in a related field with 2.0 ≤ CGPA < 2.50 with at least 6 months of working experience in a related field
  3. PASS Interview / Portfolio Review conducted by MARA
