COURSE INTRODUCTION

This 3-year program is specifically designed for teaching and learning in the field of composite polymer materials and processing technology. This skills-oriented program is expected to produce capable and professional graduates who can master various theoretical and practical aspects, especially in the field of polymer composite materials and processing technology. Among the knowledge and skills learned are concepts of polymer materials and composites, processing and production technology, material and product design, mold design and fabrication, fabrication and assembly, component maintenance and repair, and testing and analysis of materials and products. This program is conducted in collaboration with the Advanced Material Research Centre (AMREC), SIRIM Berhad and the German Malaysia Institute (GMI).

SPM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Pass SPM or equivalent with at least three (3) Credits in the following subjects:
  1. Mathematics
  2. One (1) subject from the Science / Vocational & Technology / Vocational Subjects (MPV) / Vocational Stream Subjects (MPAV) groups
  3. One (1) other subject
  4. Pass in English

STPM GRADUATES

• Pass with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any one (1) subject

STAM GRADUATES

• Pass with a minimum rank of Maqbul

OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• GRADUATES OF MARA SKILLS INSTITUTES (IKM) / PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTES (ILKA/ILKS)
  1. Pass Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Profession / Technology in a related field with CGPA ≥ 2.50
  2. OR Pass with 2.0 ≤ CGPA < 2.50 and at least 6 months of work experience in a related field
• MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE (SKM) GRADUATES
  1. Pass SKM Level 3 in a recognized related field or equivalent
• MALAYSIAN VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE (SVM) GRADUATES
  1. Academic Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) ≥ 3.33
  2. Credit in Bahasa Melayu (SVM Code 1104)
  3. Vocational CGPA ≥ 3.67
  4. Competent in all vocational modules
